Everyone has a favorite city, a place which has a special significance for them. Most of us choose to express this love by using a novelty mug or t shirt. We hang posters, pictures or maps on our walls, we bookmark articles mentioning our favorite city. Luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co took this notion a few steps further by announcing that they would be open to creating custom watches of all the greatest cities in the world. The first step was adding a watch dedicated to Moscow to their Astronomia Tourbillon Art Collection. This unique watch features 3D versions of four of the most iconic buildings in the Russian capital (Saint Basil’s Cathedral, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, The Bolshoi Theatre, and Hotel Ukraina), all hand-engraved and handpainted on a beautiful aventurine base enclosed in a 50mm case. The case is crafted from 18-carat rose gold and features a unique domed sapphire with double anti-reflective treatment. One can only hope that someone orders an “Istanbul watch” soon.
