We all know the saying, “If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life.”The secret to a happy life naturally lies in a happy career. We asked six people who have managed to make this saying the centre of their lives about the secrets of working with love.
Designing spectacular jewellery and accessories with her brand Begüm Khan founded in 2012, Begüm Kıroğlu discovered her passion for beautiful objects at an early age. Kıroğlu opens the doors of a surreal and sophisticated world with her dazzling jewellery.
You’re one of those lucky people who love their job. How does loving what you do influence your view on life?
It makes me look at everything in life with love which is wonderful.
I wake up every morning with love. Visiting a place I like, doing what I love makes me love everything else I do.
Most of us dreamed of being something when we were kids. Did you realize your dream or did life lead you in a different direction? Can you tell us about your journey?
I was a real dreamer when I was a child; I still am. Fairy tale worlds are always on my mind. Those dreams have brought me where I am. They changed a lot, but I never stopped dreaming. I think they are the reason I am here, and I’m very happy about it.
What do you love most about your job?
My favourite thing is that it offers me a space of freedom... As an independent designer, I create designs, work with people, and support ideas I believe to be right. It’s a very colourful world. I get to meet wonderful people and get inspired every day. Being able to reflect these dreams on canvas is a priceless feeling.
What about the challenges?
It’s a profession that requires a multidisciplinary approach. It’s not just about designing or selling products; there’s a very large and detailed teamwork behind it. This part can be a bit challenging sometimes.
What is your biggest advice for people who are about to embark on a new career?
Be brave and do everything in life with love.
